Jen's Bio

Born in Vancouver in 1971, Jennifer became interested in art early in her life. In highschool, she was fortunate to have an inspiring teacher, Mr.Buchko, who not only taught her the basics of drawing and painting but who also emphasized the importance of art as a creative outlet for stress.

Graduating from the University of British Columbia in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, Jennifer travelled for a few months before moving to Ottawa to begin her career as an analyst in ethnicity and immigration statistics with Statistics Canada. While in Ottawa, she took a few evening courses in life drawing and pottery.

Returning to Vancouver in late 1996, and receiving a camera for Christmas the year after that, Jennifer began to spend more of her free time taking photographs while continuing to do some hobby work in pottery studios.

In 1998, Jennifer started up Kaddatz Artz with Oliver Kaddatz. She has been primarily responsible for the business-end of the partnership while continuing to produce some pottery, photography cards and framed photographs for retail sale. Jennifer still works full-time at Statistics Canada as well.
